Saul Bass

Saul Bass is one of my favorite graphic designers.

Not only did he create some of the most iconic posters for Hitchcock, Kubrick, and Scorsese he also did a number of opening title sequences — most famous for The Man with the Golden Arm, North by Northwest, and Psycho.

He also created some of the most recognized logos — AT & T’s globe logo in 1983, United Airlines’s 1974 tulip logo, Quaker Oats in 1969, and the Girl Scouts of the USA logo in 1978.

Using a minimalist approach to get the point across, like his poster for Vertigo, is what always caught my eye about his work.
